SHETLAND
South Voe self-catering cottage, Walls
Situated on the west side of mainland Shetland, this modern
self-catering house offers stylish and comfortable accommodation sleeping four
people. Built in 2013 on the site of the one-time family croft, South Voe has
excellent views of Vaila Sound and over to the community of Walls (known
locally as Waas). The house is only a few minutes’ walk from the shoreline.
We stayed here for a week in May 2015, and were delighted
with the place, which we highly recommend. Sure, it’s a bit of a drive from
Lerwick, but it’s a great drive on good roads, through superb scenery of
undulating hills and watery inlets and lochs. Quite splendid.
